A couple of weeks ago, we took a trip down to Portsmouth for the day with my parents. We decided to go to the new Mary Rose Museum and have a wander around Gunwharf Quays and the Marina. The weather couldn’t have been nicer – we sat outside and ate lunch then walked over to the Historic Dockyard and Museum. It was amazing to learn the history of the Mary Rose and see what is left of it while they continue the preservation of the ship by drawing out 100 tons of water from its timbers. It was amazing to see the items that were recovered from the ship and how they tell a story of what life was like back in the Tudor times for specific members of the crew. If you ever get a chance to visit Portsmouth, I recommend a visit to the Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays for some lunch and shopping!
