We went a few years ago when it was just a food festival a couple times a year, but it’s now expanded into a weekly market, held behind the Royal Festival Hall every friday, saturday and sunday with around 40 stalls focusing on sustainable and ethically produced food. The majority of the food available is street food like churros (my favourite), paella, fresh pasta and gourmet hot dogs, with a few stalls selling produce and things to take away, like fresh bread and some amazing cheese stalls. You can just imagine the amazing smells filling the air!

Sadly, on this trip we only stopped by for a quick drink of some fresh lemon and orange juice and a browse of all the amazing stalls before hurrying on to meet up with everyone else for dinner, but it’s one of my favourite places to stop by whenever we visit london to get some freshly made food to eat (they even have a little seating area). I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re visiting the southbank. It’s only a few minutes walk from the tube/london eye.
