My Autumn Bucket List
I thought it was about time that I shared my bucket list. I know autumn started over a month ago, but hey, I’ve been clawing on to summer for the past 4 weeks, and now I guess it’s time to finally admit defeat! It’s daylight savings on Sunday (which I’m so not looking forward to), so I thought I’d try cheer myself up with some positives of this time of the year.
Watch a Firework Display
Bonfire Night is right around the corner, which I love! We didn’t go last year for the first time in years but I’m determined to go again this year. We’re lazy though, and only actually go for the firework display!
Go Pumpkin Picking
The UK is pretty boring when it comes to pumpkin patches, corn mazes and hayrides, but I’d love to find somewhere that does it. I really want to go and pick a pumpkin from a field. It just looks fun (and totally cheesy).
Eat Pumpkin Everything
Well, if you’re going to go and pick a whole load of pumpkins, you need to eat them too right?! I’ve already made some pumpkin cupcakes, which were amazing, but I want to make pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, stuffed pumpkin, pumpkin risotto. You get the point right?
Make Smores
We bought a little firepit a few weeks ago, so I’d love to get some blankets, sit outside in the cold, roast some marshmallows and make some smores!
Go on an Autumnal Walk
I want to jump through leaf piles (again, so cheesy right), and see all the lovely colours as much as I despise this time of year, I want to try embrace it.
Go to a Harvest Festival or Food Market
I love our farmers market this time of the year as they have so many great things on sale. But I’d love to go to a harvest festival and see all the pretty displays of food and pumpkins!
My Winter Bucket List
Well, since we’re only 2 months away from Christmas, I thought I might aswell add this on too! Winter is a little bit better for me (I’ve usually got to terms with the dark, the cold and the fact that I get 2 weeks off from work for my Birthday and Christmas – yep I’m that person that refuses to work my Birthday, and since it’s so close to Christmas, why would I want to go back to work for 2 days haha).
Go Ice Skating Outdoors
I’ve wanted to go to Skate at Somerset House in London the past couple of years but Shane refuses to go. I might just have to make him because it’s so much fun! Fun Fact: I used to do ice skating lessons when I was at school and wanted to join my local ice hockey team!
Go to a Christmas Market
We’ve been to the huge German Christmas Market in Birmingham a few times, but I’d love to go to a proper Christmas Market. I just helped one of the girls at work book her trip to Austria for the Christmas Markets and it looked amazing! So jealous!
Go Snowboarding
I love snowboarding! Another fun fact: I was going to take a gap year and move to Canada to do a snowboard instructor course and work on the slopes. It never happened. But although I’m super unfit (I’m working on that), I’d love to go on a mini snowboarding break. We looked at going to Norway between Christmas and New Year, but with lessons and hire and passes it would have worked out SO expensive!
See Hogwarts in the Snow
I’m SO excited about this! I treated myself to a little birthday present and booked for Shane and I to go to the Warner Bros Studios to see Hogwarts in the Snow! They decorate the Great Hall with Christmas trees and roast dinners and then put film snow on Hogwarts for Christmas. It looks amazing! We visited years ago during the summer when it first opened and it was amazing, but they’ve added so much more to it since, so I’m excited to go back and see it all dressed up for winter!
Go to the Spa
Ok so this is another little birthday present! I love the spa! I find it so hard to just relax and chill at home as I feel like I should be out doing something all the time. But in winter that’s the last thing that I want to do, so it’s the perfect time to just relax at the spa, which I actually have no problem doing!
Finish my Crochet Blanket
I started a crochet blanket about 3 years ago, and each winter I do a tiny bit more. It’s still only about a 1/4 done. I’ll get there eventually!
What have you got on your autumn or winter bucket lists? I always love suggestions because winter sucks and I need ides of what to do haha!

October 27, 2016 at 4:02 pmOoh I’m very jealous of your fire pit! Mind you, if I had one, I would probably subsist off an exclusive diet of smores. So it’s probably a good thing that I don’t! Lovely list 🙂 xxx

October 28, 2016 at 6:57 amWe’ve only actually used it the day that we bought it about a month ago, but we really want to use it now that it’s getting colder too. Smores are the best, so I can see how that might happen haha!

October 31, 2016 at 6:47 amOh wow that would be absolutely amazing! I’ve only ever been to the ones in the UK, but I’d absolutely love to visit a ‘proper’ christmas market abroad!

October 29, 2016 at 1:26 pmGreat list – I want to do all of this haha! I actually have a confession to make – I don’t think I’ve ever eaten pumpkin in any form! :O I feel like it’s such a massive crime and needs to be rectified ASAP. I’m heading out in the minute so if I see anything pumpkin-y, I’m definitely going to try and taste it! x

October 31, 2016 at 6:48 amNooo! You need to asap haha! To be honest, they don’t really have too much flavour. Have you ever eaten butternut squash? It’s kind of like that but less ‘buttery’ tasting. Pumpkin soup is my favourite!

November 2, 2016 at 9:54 pmAbsolutely loving the idea of a seasonal list – what a great way to breakdown the year for things to do! Gosh I still miss the classic English Autumn and Winter, especially the snow… Christmas isn’t quite the same without it down in the Southern hemisphere!

November 5, 2016 at 8:08 amI’d be quite happy in the southern hemesphere haha! Give me warmer weather year round and I’d be in my element, though I definitely would miss the snow!
