This past weekend, Shane and I took advantage of the lovely weather and headed for Dunwich Heath for an afternoon of exploring. I wanted to visit purely to see the amazing purple (and yellow) fields of heather across the heath that come out in bloom during July-September. We took a little walk through the heather for a bit before heading home – there’s just so much to explore there and quote a few walks too. The drive there was absolutely amazing too, through little villages with pretty painted houses and gardens full with pretty flowers.
Though there is a stone beach there, we didn’t have enough time to visit it on this trip, but I’d love to go back and explore some more. I love that you can even book a stay in the old coastguard cottages too. How fun!

September 6, 2014 at 2:04 pmOoooooh! I already saw your instagrams but I just can’t get enough of the gorgeous scenery. So. Much. Purple.! And It’s my favorite color, haha. Lovely shots April! I’ll be crossing the North sea again soon, though I’m skipping England this time and heading for Ireland. I’m hoping the scenes there will be just as beautiful! xo
