One of my very favourite things to do whenever we visit Weymouth is to take a little drive out to Portland to visit the beautiful lighthouse there. It’s such a lovely (but very hilly) drive alongside chesil beach to Portland. There’s also a lovely little lookout point that we tend to stop at, though as you can see by the picture, it’s a pretty tight squeeze to get in to the car park – we only just managed to get Shanes car through there (I’m so glad I wasn’t the one driving haha). We tend to stop there for a few minutes and admire the views, then carry on our little drive to Portland Bill.
On this visit, we actually forgot money for the car park, so I ended up going off to quickly take some photos by myself, while Shane waited for me in the car. The lighting was just so perfect, and I could have stayed for a whole lot longer and gone for a longer walk around the place, but I felt a little bad that Shane had to just sit in the car the whole time so we eventually made our way back to our campsite for the evening. If you’re ever in Weymouth, I seriously recommend taking a little drive out to Portland Bill, especially during the ‘golden hour’!
